Meet the founder

Sherif Abbas

Researcher & Educator · Deakin University

MathPractice.xyz was founded in 2023, inspired by a simple request from Sherif's Year 9 daughter: "Can you write me more practice problems?" After creating countless handwritten exercises, he asked: why not generate unlimited questions with Python?

What started as PDF worksheets on a blog grew into an interactive platform used by students across Australia. Sherif holds a PhD in Physics from the University of Sydney and works as a researcher at Deakin University's Applied Artificial Intelligence Institute — combining expertise in AI and education to build meaningful learning experiences.
